Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, is a procedure to reshape areas of the body by removing excess fat. The process used by our surgeons, Vaser Liposelection, is an USFDA approved process. The technique uses ultrasonic energy to melt down and remove fat. Vaser Liposelection is not only more efficient than the traditional method of liposuction, it is also less traumatic. You can expect a faster recovery time and less swelling and bruising. Your skin will be smoother and your body will be beautifully contoured.

Good Candidate for Arm Lift
- Men and women who are healthy and at least 18 years old.
- Men and women with excess fat in one or more body area, where exercise and diet have been ineffective in reshaping.
Liposuction is done under general anesthesia. The time of the procedure varies dependent upon the number are areas treated and the amount of fat removal. Our plastic surgeon will make a small incision in the area to be reshaped and fill the area with a special saline solution. The solution numbs the site, helps to minimize blood loss and bruising, and prepares the fat for removal. A sound energy transmitting probe is then inserted to break up fatty tissue. Finally, the liquid fat is removed through the use of a specialized suction process and the incisions are stitched closed.
Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or removal of cellulite or sagging skin. It is often used in conjunction with other procedures to ensure the most favorable result.
Recovery Time in Thailand
After surgery the surgeon applies dressings to provide support during the initial healing process. A small tube is inserted to drain excess fluid and you are moved to a hospital recovery room for 2 nights. During the hospital stay you are monitored by hospital nursing staff and given instruction for continued post-hospital care until the body has completely healed.
Discomfort is to be expected during recovery. Medications for pain and infection prevention will be prescribed by the surgeon and administered by the hospital staff. The surgeon will provide additional prescriptions and instruction for post-hospital medications before you leave the hospital.
After 7 days you will have a final check-up by the surgeon and will be ready to return home, or to continue your holiday in Thailand. Within two weeks normal activities can be resumed, however, heavy physical activities and exercise should be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks.
