A thigh lift is a procedure used to reshape underlying tissue of the thigh. Excess fat and sagging skin are removed to improve the appearance of the skin’s texture by reducing the condition known as cellulite.
Thigh lifts are not used to remove large amounts of excess fat, so liposuction is sometimes used in conjunction with buttock lifts, if excessive fat removal is required.
Contributing factors to poor thigh form are: aging, dramatic weight loss, pregnancy, gravity and genetics.

Thigh lift surgery takes about 3 hours and will be performed while you are under general anesthesia.
Once under general anesthesia the surgeon makes an incision and removes excess skin. The incision may be horizontal and placed in the groin area if the skin and fat removal is limited to the upper thigh.
A vertical incision on the inner thigh, from the groin to the knee, is made if the skin and fat removal is required throughout the thigh. After excess skin removal the remaining skin will be pulled tight and stitched.
For best results thigh lifts are often performed in conjunction with tummy tucks and buttock lifts, for consistancy of the lower body look.
Recovery Time in Thailand
After surgery the surgeon applies dressings to provide support during the initial healing process. A small tube is inserted to drain excess fluid and you are moved to a hospital recovery room for a 2 nights. During the hospital stay you are monitored by hospital nursing staff and given instruction for continued post-hospital care until the body has completely healed.
Discomfort is to be expected during recovery. Medications for pain and infection prevention will be prescribed by the surgeon and administered by the hospital staff. The surgeon will provide additional prescriptions and instruction for post-hospital medications before you leave the hospital.
After 7 days you will have a final check-up by the surgeon and will be ready to return home, or to continue your holiday in Thailand. Within two weeks normal activities can be resumed, however, heavy physical activities and exercise should be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks.
